Basket trades: buy a mix of coins in one go
Buy several coins in one order, hold them as one, sell them together or buy them on a schedule. Also new: small deposits are never lost, DOGE moves to our own node, and a clearer portfolio chart.

Baskets are live on SpotEx. A basket is a group of coins you buy together in a single order, for example half PPC, a third WPPC and the rest IBNAI. You then hold, follow and sell the whole mix as one.
Why we built baskets
Most people who trade here don't hold just one coin. They spread their money across a few projects they believe in. Until now, that meant a separate order for every coin. You had to work out how much to put into each, check each order book and clear each market's minimum. Then you had to keep track of how the whole mix was doing across several balances.
Baskets turn all of that into one step:
- You choose the coins and how much of your money each one gets.
- You look at one preview and confirm once.
- SpotEx splits the amount and buys every coin at the best price it can find.
From then on, the whole mix shows as a single holding with its own value and profit.
Baskets also make two habits experienced traders rely on much easier:
- Spreading risk. When your money is spread over several coins, one of them falling hurts less.
- Buying a little at a time. A recurring basket buys the same mix every day, week, two weeks or month. You build a position steadily instead of trying to time the market.
What a basket looks like
Here is a 100 USDT basket:
| Coin | Share | Spent on it |
|---|---|---|
| Peercoin (PPC) | 50% | 50 USDT |
| Wrapped Peercoin (WPPC) | 30% | 30 USDT |
| IBNAI | 20% | 20 USDT |
That's one order instead of three, and one line in My baskets instead of three balances to add up.
How it works
- Pick a basket. Build your own from any coins that trade against USDT or USDC: 2 to 10 coins, each with at least 5% of the basket. Or choose one that another user has published.
- Preview it. For every coin, the preview shows where it will be bought, roughly how much you will get and the fees. Every amount shown is already after fees.
- Buy in one go. Your amount is split by share. Each coin is bought on the order book or in a swap pool, whichever gives you more of the coin after fees.
- Hold it as one. My baskets shows what the basket holds, what that is worth at the latest SpotEx price, and your profit or loss.
- Sell when you want. Sell 25%, 50%, 75% or all of it, again in one go.
Your preview is a promise
Prices can move between your preview and your purchase, so you set a price tolerance: 1% by default, up to 5%. If any coin would trade further from the preview than that, nothing is bought and you are asked to preview again. Selling works the same way.
Each coin is its own trade
The coins in a basket are bought one after another, so they can't all fill in the same instant. If one coin's order book is too thin at that moment, the others are still bought, and that coin's share stays in your balance as USDT or USDC.
If you would rather have all or nothing, tick Only if every coin can be bought.
The coins are yours
A basket is not a fund or a separate product. The coins land in your wallet like any other purchase. You can withdraw them, trade them on their own markets, or sell them through the basket.
SpotEx simply remembers what each basket bought, so it can show you the basket as one holding. If you sell some of those coins elsewhere, the basket tells you.
Three ways to use baskets
| What it does | Where | |
|---|---|---|
| Buy once | One amount, split across your coins and bought now | Buy a basket |
| Buy regularly | The same amount on the same basket every day, week, two weeks or month | Recurring |
| Publish your own | Share your mix so other users can buy exactly the same basket | Explore |
Buying regularly
A recurring basket spends a fixed amount on the same basket on a schedule you choose:
- Limits: up to 5,000 USDT or USDC per run, and up to five recurring baskets at once.
- Each run: buys the whole basket at a fair price or nothing at all.
- Skipped runs: if a coin can't be bought within your price tolerance, a market's minimum isn't met, or your balance is too low, that run is skipped and you get a notification.
- Three skips in a row pause the plan, so it never keeps failing quietly.
- Control: pause, resume or cancel whenever you like. Cancelling never sells anything you have already bought.
Publishing a basket
Built a mix you're proud of? Publish it, up to five per account, and other users can buy it from Explore. Once published, its coins and shares are fixed, so everyone who buys it gets exactly what they saw.
Each published basket shows how its mix moved on SpotEx over the last 7 and 30 days. That is history, not a forecast.
Published baskets are made by users. SpotEx does not check or recommend them, and can remove any that break the rules.
Rules and fees at a glance
| Pay with | USDT or USDC |
| Coins per basket | 2 to 10 |
| Smallest share | 5% of the basket |
| Price tolerance | 1% by default, up to 5% |
| Smallest basket | Every coin's share must clear its market's minimum order. The preview tells you the smallest amount that works |
| Basket fee | None |
| Trading fees | Each coin pays its normal fee: the taker fee on the order book (0.2% on most markets, less with a fee tier) or the swap fee in a pool |
| Recurring baskets | Up to 5 at once, up to 5,000 USDT or USDC per run |
| Published baskets | Up to 5 per account |
Things to keep in mind
- Spreading money over several coins softens the blow when one coin falls. If they all fall together, the basket falls too.
- Some of our markets have thin order books. The bigger the basket, the more it can move prices, so start small and read the preview.
- The 7- and 30-day figures are history, not a promise.
- Only spend what you can afford to lose.
The How it works tab explains every term in full.
Also new
Small deposits are never lost
Every coin has a minimum deposit, listed on the Fees page. Until now, a deposit below it sat waiting for our team to look at it. Now it waits safely in your account, and nothing is lost:
- A notification tells you how much arrived, what the minimum is, and exactly how much more to send.
- The [Deposit](/wallets/deposit) page shows any deposits still waiting and the amount missing.
- Your history marks them Below minimum.
- Credited automatically: as soon as your deposits of that coin, on the same address and network, add up to the minimum, they are all credited together.
If you already have one waiting, send the difference to the same address and network and it will be credited with the rest.
Dogecoin moves to our own node
DOGE deposits and withdrawals now run on SpotEx's own Dogecoin node. That means you have a new DOGE deposit address: get it on the Deposit page.
Your old DOGE address keeps working until 19 November 2026. After that, send DOGE only to the new one. Your saved DOGE withdrawal addresses carry over, so there is nothing to add again.
Withdrawal addresses are checked before anything is locked
When you save or use a withdrawal address, SpotEx now asks the coin's own network whether it is a valid address for that coin. This happens before any funds are reserved. A typo, an address for a different coin, or an account number from another exchange is caught on the spot, with a message saying what is wrong.
A clearer portfolio chart
The Portfolio page has a new interactive chart with three views:
- Value over time.
- Profit or loss. Deposits and withdrawals are kept out, so moving money in never counts as a gain.
- Daily profit or loss.
Hover over any day to see its numbers. Deposits and withdrawals are marked on the line, and you can show 7, 30 or 90 days, or all time.
Smaller improvements
- [Withdraw](/wallets/withdraw) page: it opens on your largest balance, and the quick-pick coins start with the ones you withdrew most recently.
- Hide zero balances: on Overview and Wallets, your choice is now remembered.
- Security: we reviewed withdrawal, trading and account security, and added automated checks that keep those protections in place with every update.
