Proof of reserves, published daily

Each account's balance is hashed into a Merkle tree and the root is published. You get your own proof, and a verifier that has nothing to do with us.

Frequently asked questions

What is SpotEx.trade?
A spot crypto exchange. You deposit crypto to your account, trade it against other assets on live order books, and withdraw to your own wallet whenever you like.
How are deposited funds kept?
Most funds sit in cold storage, away from anything connected to the withdrawal path. Hot wallets hold only what day-to-day withdrawals need, and holdings are reconciled against the blockchain on a schedule.
What does trading cost?
Each market has a maker and a taker fee, listed on the fee schedule. Deposits are free; a withdrawal pays the network fee shown before you confirm.
How long does a deposit take?
It is credited once it reaches the confirmations shown on the deposit page for that asset — usually minutes. You are notified the moment it lands.
Can I trade from my own software?
Yes. Create an API key under Security and follow the API reference. Keys can read and trade, and can never withdraw.
Do I need to verify my identity to open an account?
No. Registration needs an email address, a username and a password — no documents, no selfie, no date of birth. That is a deliberate choice, not an oversight, and it is why an account opens in minutes.
How do I know you actually hold what you say you hold?
Check for yourself, asset by asset, at reserves. It is read from our own wallets each time the page builds, not typed in by hand. Once a day we also publish a cryptographic snapshot of every account's balances, and an open-source verifier lets you confirm your own balance was counted in it — without taking our word for it.
Is SpotEx.trade regulated?
No — read the risk disclosure before depositing anything. Nobody audits what we hold, there is no deposit guarantee, and if something goes wrong your only recourse is us. We would rather say that plainly than have you find out later.
How does a new coin get listed?
Anyone can put one forward at listings, and other users vote on whether it should trade. Most proposers are the project or its community — you do not need an account here already to submit one.
Can I earn anything by referring people?
Yes — your referral link is under Security once you have an account. A share of what someone you referred pays in fees comes back to you, for as long as they trade here. It never changes what they pay.
